About Me

Hi, my name is Drake Hanson. I am a senior at Pleasant Valley High School. I am the Photo Manager for the Spartan Shield, which is PV's online newspaper.

I started doing photography work for the Spartan Shield at the beginning of my senior year before I did any kind of journalism class. During the second semester of my senior year, I finally signed up to do the honors journalism class, where we run the online newspaper. 

I recently been gaining a lot of attention from the instagram account (@23media_) that I made to post my photography, videography, and graphic design work. I currently have over 700 followers, since I created the account back in October of 2022.

More about me: I have been playing ice hockey for the Quad City Ice Eagles for the past 6 years. In my senior season, I was the captain of the U18 team, where we got to the semi-finals in the state tournament and placed 3rd. Next year, I am headed to Iowa State University to pursue a mechanical engineering degree. I hope to keep doing photography and videography at Iowa State. I spend my summers working at Davenport Country Club as a groundskeeper. In my free time, I have been doing a lot of photography and videography. I also ski and spend lots of time with his friends and family. I have two pugs, Winston and Tank.
